Evolution is a very interesting thing. Animals evolve to avoid going extinct, for example the Peppered moth had a light coloring darkened after the Industrial Revolution, because of the pollution of the time. This evolution came about because the light colored moths were seen by birds more readily, so with natural selection, the dark colored moths survived to reproduce. The moth had to evolve to allow it’s species to live on.
Businesses are no different. Businesses must evolve with the ever changing needs of clients, especially business that sell internet based products, like we do. Over the course of the last year, we’ve noticed a change in trends. Specifically trends in small business technology and marketing. When Contempo was founded, we had one specific goal. We wanted to create unique online presences for businesses on the internet to help them stand out more in their niche. We primarily achieved that through unique customized approach to user interface and experience design and then built them using the best tech available. This is still the case, but we’ve decided to renew and revise our approach.
The Evolution of Contempo
When Contempo was founded. There was a direction, just not a concrete one, it was a little bit loose in the beginning from the standpoint of who we were. As time continued we kept searching and looking for the direction of the company.
We always knew we wanted to build software.
We always wanted to be a software company. That was the goal. We didn’t want to offer marketing services because we didn’t want to hurt our brand identity as a “software” focused firm.
As Contempo continued to grow and secured more software specific jobs (from data scraping to mobile/web application development). We focused more on refining it’s identity as a company, a software agency. It was through this we realized it wouldn’t be the most appropriate move to combine all of these services under one umbrella. Some of which are their own complete industry (digital marketing, software development, web hosting). Any business that has several services that range across different industries can’t ensure their clients success for each one of those products. Especially as they relate to that particular client’s business. However, with our web clients at Contempo. We knew we could be offering them more value, we just didn’t want to smudge our brand identity. That’s why we had partnerships with different marketing agencies to refer our clients that wanted marketing services such as web hosting, blogging, PPC or SEO.
Today, Contempo focuses solely on building custom software solutions for medium to enterprise level clients.
Marketli’s Focus: Ensuring Client Success
When Marketli was founded, it was started with one purpose in mind. Ensuring client success on the internet. The definition of success varies from client to client. But overall, we look at it as helping them create and achieve goals that will actually have a measurable ROI and help their business grow year over year – specifically through leveraging digital marketing. At Contempo we had realized websites alone can’t help our clients be successful. That’s why Marketing became the focus when we started Marketli.
Through adding these services we were able to monitor, track and ensure client successes and we’ve already created some awesome results. All of these services require a different level of skill to make them profitable for businesses throughout different industries. Which is what we’ve made our focus and we’re very glad to say we’re achieving that. As we continue to grow, the focus will not change.
